Friend and I came here for the hike but were delighted to stumble across the science center! All the staff we came across were super nice and willing to point us to the cool things to see. The exhibits are fairly basic but well put together. Definitely stop by inside if you’re nearby to hike!

I hiked the 4.5 mile lakes trails. Nice shaded trail. Well marked blazes. Watch out for spider webs. Not many mosquitoes, even in the summer. The lake has fish and turtles of all sizes. The trail has cool lizards, frogs, snails, and mushrooms.

Nice trails system. You can decide the distance you want to go. Just a point of clarification to see the lake you will have to hike over 6 miles out and back (if you are parked at the science center like I was) elachee trail, to bridge trail to lake loop. Or you can drive over to it and park there (2100 Calvary church road).

The center was closed the day we went, so we just hiked the trails. Beautiful vistas, a little creek, and we saw two deer!

Lovely wooded nature preserve with many shaded and charming, well-kept paths to wander. This is a hilly area so be prepared for some uphill climbs depending on what hike you choose. The walk down to the suspension bridge is lovely, a 2.8 mile round trip that takes you through fern covered gulleys, sun dappled glens, beside a bubbling creek and more.We went in the fall and loved all the leaves changing. I want to return in the spring to see the trilliums in bloom.

If you haven't been here and you love being in the outdoors, you need to go. It is really a jewel in North Georgia. Great, challenging trails in a beautiful area. It's a non-profit nature preserve that doesn't receive government funding so the $5 you pay for parking is a small price for a great hiking or trail running experience. Be forewarned, no dogs or pets allowed! Bring water and snacks and make sure you practice Leave No Trace!

I really enjoy this preserve. The trails here are well marked and moderately well maintained. My favorite is the Lake Loop which has an awesome suspension bridge in the middle and a lovely lake at the end (or beginning depending which way you go). The only thing I can say is make sure to put your donations in to keep this hidden jewel going for years!

AMAZING!! I can't tell you how excited I am about this restaurant. I have to eat gluten free and never get to eat fried foods. All of their fried food is GF so no worries of cross contamination. I had the fish and chips and the fish was so good. Flaky and delicious. It was not greasy at all. I can't wait to go back for some fried shrimp. The staff was very friendly and the food was served piping hot. The waitress said they have GF bread for any of the sandwiches and GF pancakes for Sunday brunch. Check them out and you will be so glad you did!

We visited the History center on the free family Sunday. The time period was WWII and the branches of the military. One of the men told his father's story of his time in the war. It was very interesting and engaging. All of the things they had on display (ration books, the uniforms, field phones, gas masks, and so much more) we're interesting to see. We also toured the rest of the museum and the cabin. We came from an hour and half away and was not disappointed. I would definitely go again for a family day! What a wonderful thing for the History Center to be able to do for the community!

Excellent exhibits and friendly staff! My son and I went to an organized event where they dressed up as if we were in the 1850's and took us through an average school day from around that time period down in their one room school house and it was quite the experience, I mean that in a positive way. The NEGA museum is an affordable way to spend that day, learn some local history and see some interesting stuff.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed my experience! The park is nice except for places where there was some visible trash around, in the grass and water. The park has a nice, big covered pavilion and plenty of geese hanging around looking for food! The trail is a nice walk and there are plenty of places to sit down and relax when it may be needed. There is a time machine along the path. You may enjoy walking around the lake walk - Lake Lanier, and sitting on a bench swing. The park has a playground, tennis courts, a fishing dock and is dog friendly.

Lake Lanier Islands is great all year round, but at Christmas it’s beautiful! They offer snow tubing, a Christmas light walking trail, amusement rides, food trucks and some little shops with gifts and ornaments. The con is the price, if you plan to take your family and they want to do all the activities, including walking the lighted trail and parking to get onto the island. This is a “SPLURGE” type of thing. We’ve done it once and wouldn’t do it again because of the cost.

Lake Lanier is ALWAYS a favorite stop during our family reunion. With the warm sun, sandy beach, music & videos, tiki bar and resturaunts you can't lose. Some days it costs money to get in, others it does not (not sure how that works). They have a water park on the property (that costs extra) as well as a play island for kids to play on.The play Island is at additional cost as well, and they provide life jackets for the children because they have to swim quite a distance out to the platform.A parent MAY want to go out there with the child if they are not strong swimmers.

My wife and I got to bring our niece and nephew here and it was pretty neat. The idea is really cool! Some of the areas are very creative and some could use improvement. It was fun to watch the kids get lost in imagination, something it feels like we as adults lose years ago and need to get back. I didn't really care so much for the Halloween decor at the time we visited, but that's just me. The lady at the front was nice, and the kids had a great time.

Nice little park. Not huge, but it's nice and well kept. We wanted to go for a walk, but it only took us about 5 minutes to walk through the whole place! Our little puppy loved it!

Golf course's shape is great.Hard to find better one with this price range.I have read one or two star reviews that mentioned slow play and 5 and half hours of round. But that is not golf course's fault actually player's.No etiquette, selfish, no school,No understanding of golf course management."A bad apple makes whole box bad"Now a days ranger cannot force them to play faster. They don't know how to enjoy of real game of golf.Show up on timeKeep up with front groupAnd Shut upPeriod.

I am in the area from California visiting my son. We planned to play golf and chose Chicopee Woods because of the many great reviews on Google and the photos that various reviewers had posted. The course is in beautiful shape and the different vistas that you get from playing are spectacular. It is a very different course than the type I regularly play in California but you can quickly adapt to the hills and the surroundings that challenge your game. There is a lot of pride taken by ownership because the flowers, plants and yes even the water holes only add to your enjoyment of playing at Chicopee Woods. I would highly recommend this course to any golfer who is looking for an enjoyable round of golf on a beautiful layout over three 9 hole courses. Great job Chicopee Woods.

My fiance and I used to like swimming here up until our visit last week. We were enjoying our time swimming together in an empty pool when a member of management came to us and told us that we were being "too affectionate" because we hugged and kissed a few times. We were so irritated by this that we left shortly after and will not be back. We no longer recommend this place to anyone.

The staff at Frances Meadows was truly a blessing We had a family emergency in July that required us to travel to Gainesville from Pennsylvania for 3 weeks, with a 2 & 4-year-old: with all that, our family was going through. We're grateful for your kindness, and consideration to us that allowed the space for our little ones to be able to smile, play and swim and be children. It was truly appreciated. Thank you!

This is a nice place probably not on the summer weekends. I came on a Saturday and it seemed it was at 1000% capacity. They had 2 woman's bathrooms for the 300+ people. These bathrooms were in really bad shape. They take a 10 minute break every hour to get everyone out of the pools, and although it's a great idea 10 minutes is just too long every hour. They don't allow outside food but provide very unhealthy food choices. We had a stroller and had to knock on the door (because they locked the lobby at 4pm) to get out of the facility. The gate doors to get our are not wheel chair accessible or stroller accessible. But overall my daughter was happy to be out of the house and she really enjoyed her time.
